Why is it that every time I click on a link to open a blog which starts with “lesbianswholooklike…”, my computer crashes? Every damn time.

Remember Sunny Day Real Estate? I do! Well this album at least.
(Related to my previous post - are you reading this Cameras? I’ve got your number.) Put Kilimanjaro on the record player today, and just realised how much Blur were influenced by The Teardrop Explodes for their second album, Modern Life is Rubbish (especially the song Colin Zeal). How had I not noticed this before?
Saw Roxy Music live at the Botanic Gardens in Brisbane the other night, they were really good, had a good time. But supporting them was this band from Sydney called Cameras. They started out well, quite interesting, and then the male lead guitarist started to sing and I groaned. I am so sick of this British/post-punk/The Teardrop Explodes/Orange Juice/Glasgow post-punk in general revival. And we have Franz Ferdinand to blame for it all. I mean, these revivals assume that the majority of music listeners have forgotten about the genre that is being revived. And I like Franz Ferdinand. But if you’re going to be heavily influenced by a period in music history, please make your own mark on it - don’t rip it off note-perfect like Cameras did every second song. Anyway. It reminded how much I like Orange Juice.
All them boys got nothing on me
